Bob Horton said it. “I love you.” He could still hear how it sounded the first time. His voice cracked right in the middle of the three words. But after that it was easier, and he said it often. He and Marilynn were engaged . . . they were married . . . and three months later the honeymoon was still on. It looked like forever.

That’s the conclusion to this story. But it’s the beginning of the story that Bob Horton still can’t consider. . . .

He was just like any other bachelor.

To his friends, he’d say, “If I could only find a kind girl, I’d marry her.”

To himself, he’d say, “Married—that’s the last thing I want to be.” Favor any other bachelor, he wasn’t going to present up his freedom without a fight. He was more stubborn than most. He’d tried marriage twice, and twice it hadn’t worked.

But if his friends wanted to introduce him to nice girls, he’d meet them. And he’d go out of his way—in fact, way out—to say hello to a nice girl.

Warning: Edward Everett Horton is a lot to type. So I sometimes call him Horton or E.E.H. The previous sentence has been a heads up.

Born in that cauldron of entertainment, Brooklyn, New York, Edward Everett Horton sprang forth on a sunny March 18, , a Thursday as it was, a comedic genius arrived on the planet. A comic star of genius. A master of the double seize. The man who place the word "priss" in prissy. He possessed a voice and mysterious accent that gave no hint of his humble beginnings.

It is best to describe Horton's High Academy experience as uneventful as a student at the fabled Boy's High, amongst the first of those fables. That list includes such luminaries as Isaac Asimov, Howard Cosell, Gentleman Ray, Lawrence Tierney, and publisher of Screw Magazine, Al Goldstein. (I'll tag some more graduates at the end.)

He attended Oberlin in Ohio but was requested to leave after a chil

During his career, Tab Hunter only won one award, according to IMDB, placing fourth in the category of Foremost Male Musical Artist for his movie Damn Yankees. (He lost to Pat Boone in Mardi Gras.) Hunter has 75 credits as an actor, his last one existence &#;s Dark Horse, had his hold TV series in the early &#;60s, and sang a number one strike song in (&#;Young Love&#;), but suddenly, he finds himself a hot commodity again, thanks to last year&#;s documentary Tab Hunter Confidential. The film about Hunter has already garnered more awards than Hunter himself, winning feature awards at film festivals in California, Louisville, San Diego, and Miami.

However, Hunter&#;s achievement, then and now, was never a guarantee. Tab Seeker Confidential, a famous gossip rag of the studio era in Hollywood that refused to compete nice with the studios, did their best to spoil Hunter&#;s blossoming career, revealing his arrest for attending a gay &#;pajama party&#;. Thanks to his immense popularity and the fact that he was romantically linked in the press with Natalie Wood, America&#;s darling, Hunter&#
