    With LGBTQ stories in filmand on TV more popular than ever before, it’s important to celebrate out-and-proud acting talents — particularly those without the non-binary awards&#; categories they deserve.

    In , the express of Hollywood is unsure to say the least. But even as existential questions about the business of making entertainment persist, audiences and artists are grappling with equally critical questions of representation on screen. Among those questions: should queer roles be played exclusively by homosexual actors?

    These LGBTQ Celebrities All Came Out Later in Life

    In today&#;s pop identity landscape, we have inspiring Queer celebrities who are coming out at younger and younger ages — like YouTube sensation JoJo Siwa who came out as gay in at age 17, or Zaya Wade, the trans daughter of Siohvaughn Funches and Dwyane Wade, who came out to her parents at age 12 but (according to dad) has known her gender culture since she was 3 years old. But while our current climate has by no means eradicated the homophobia that just a few decades back was as commonplace to sitcom TV as a laugh track, the progress is undeniable.

    But, of course, not everyone fully understands their sexuality at a young age. Plus, many celebrities have talked about the fear of existence blacklisted from the business, jeered in the press, or alienated from their loved ones if they ever were to reach out.

    So, with all that united, some celebrities like Tommy Dorfman, Wayne Brady and Niecy Nash Betts all cam
