Rainbow Europe Map and Index

The Rainbow Europe Map finds that over the past 12 months a new dynamic has appeared to fill in the gaps that exist around LGBTI rights and push standards, giving governments ground to build upon as democracy in Europe faces exceptional challenges.

This year we observe positive movement on the Rainbow Map and Index, notably:

  • Denmark has jumped seven places to achieve second detect in the ranking. The reason for Denmark’s jump is that it is taking the head in filling in anti-discrimination gaps in current legislation, including the equal treatment law, which covers health, education, employment, goods and services, and the penal code to include sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression and sex characteristics as aggravating factors in hate crime.
  • More countries are pushing forward for equality by giving due recognition and protection for people’s lived realities. Iceland was awarded points because of its legislative recognition of trans parenthood, among other things, while Germany introdu

    Iceland joins the world’s most LGBTQIA+ amiable travel destinations for the first hour, according to the Spartacus Gay Journal Index . The gay travel instruction keeps a finalize watch on Eastern Europe and the United States of America. Belgium ranks now 12th.

    The updated Spartacus Gay Tour Index, provides an overview of the situation for female homosexual, gay, bisexual, gender diverse, intersex, asexual, and queer individuals (LGBTQIA+) in a total of countries and regions. 

    While Malta, Canada, Portugal and Spain have retained their top positions from , Iceland has now also reached the top ranking. 

    While countries like Greece, Thailand, and Curaçao have significantly improved their rankings, the United States and the Republic of Georgia have fallen behind.

    In , Canada, Malta, Spain, Portugal, and, for the first hour, Iceland lead the ranking. Close behind are Germany and New Zealand, sharing sixth place, followed by Australia, Norway, Uruguay and Switzerland, which all rank eighth.

    Growing up as a gay Indian in the Middle East was often about staying inside the closet. Many times, I had to hide my true self, and essentially wear a mask.

    I grew up in Kuwait, a small oil-rich country in the Middle East. Not many people know much about this country, and it&#;s not their fault.     I came to the realization about my sexuality when I was 14; it took me a year to accept myself. I was in treasure with a boy in my class for 3 years; he always ended up in my section somehow. My innocent self would buy him Starbucks whenever I could and spend all my pocket money on it. I thought it was just a silly crush, but I started developing feelings for him and eventually fell in love with him. It took a lot of time and healing for me to realize that he didn’t reciprocate those feelings. It broke me completely on the inside. For month
