BBy day, engage and sunbathe on some of the world’s finest beaches and then when the sun sets, put on your party shoes and enjoy a variety of nightlife experiences. When it comes to welcoming and inclusive destinations no matter your preferences head to Cape Town, rivalling same-sex attracted capitals like London, San Francisco and Sydney.
The Mother Metropolis will welcome you and take you in her arms, as she shows off, day and night. Stay in one of the boutique hotels in De Waterkant, well-known for being a gay-friendly area in the heart of the city. By day, relax and soak up the sun on the city’s best beaches. Clifton’s 3rd beach is a favourite and is also the busiest gay-friendly beach where the locals hang out. Or try Sandy Bay, the “de facto gay nude beach”. Camps Bay is another favourite and also applications a number of trendy restaurants and bars for lunch or sundowners.
Clifton 4th Beach
Clifton in South Africa is an area with a set of 4 beaches which are frequently used destinations for both locals and tourists. The beaches, which are named from 1st to 4th, are separated by falls of granite boulders and have almost pure white granitic sand. The four beaches of Clifton are one of the few areas well protected from the notorious south-easterly wind, which has a great deal to act with its popularity with bathers. A fifth beach, before First Beach, called Moses Beach (so-called because of the papyrus plants that grow along it), appears and disappears as the sand is washed in and out with the seasons. The rain, although chilly (12–16°C), plays host to many watersports, mostly surfing, both board and body.
The strongest surf is at First, diminishing to Fourth, where it is the weakest. Fourth beach (to the South), is the most populated and glamorous venue; attracting families. Clifton features 4 well-known and famous beaches that all cater to different interests and needs. But they&#;ve got one thing in common: each and every single one of them is absolutely beautiful and breath-taking. All of them are accessed via quite a few staircases, so rather pack lightly because you have to transport all your stuff help up again!
In the popular summer months, the parking can also develop a small nightmare as locals and tourists alike are trying to secure a spot as initial as possible and hence the streets and parking spots are crammed with joyful beachgoers. So whenever you can, it&#;s advisable to use an Uber or Taxi to obtain there as you can directly walk down to your preferred beach.
The water is flipping chilly (as on most other beaches in town) and swimming is only for the brave (and kids who don&#;t seem to feel the cold in their bones). Water temperature is around 14 degrees and only the fearless manage to cool off their bodies during a swim.

Where are the Clifton beaches?
The Clifton beaches are in Clifton, which is one of Cape Town’s most affluent neighbourhoods. There aren’t really any shops, bars, or restaurants here, just beautiful houses and stunning beaches.
These gorgeous beaches are also pretty well protected from the wind. This is a huge bonus because it gets very windy in Cape Town sometimes.
